Valentines & Mothers Day

As seen in Cosmopolitan magazine

8 Heart Hairstyles Perfect for Valentine's Day:

1. TWISTED HEART BRAID

Twisted Heart Braid

Switch up your long-hair look by weaving your strands into this twisted heart braid, like beauty blogger Natalie Tasha's.

2. SWEETHEART BUN

Sweetheart Bun

Kick your V-day look up a notch by turning your regular bun in a beautiful heart shape. To do so, manipulate a hair donut into a heart shape using elastic hair ties to create the heart.

3. A SWEETHEART STYLE

Sweetheart Style

Why wear your heart on your sleeve when you can just wear it in your hair? To recreate this look, part your hair past the crown of your head. Then, where the part stops, begin braiding your hair (crossing the three sections of hair under each other to create an inverted braid) in a curved formation so that heart shape forms properly.

4. A BEAUTIFUL BUN

Beautiful Bun

Create a heart-shaped design by mapping out a heart-shaped part first with a fine-toothed comb, and then rope braiding the rest of your hair.

5. A TWICE-TWISTED STYLE

Twisted Style

How Sweet Is This? Make your own mini heart by pulling your hair back, securing it with an elastic hair tie, separating it into two sections, and twisting each one until they coil up into this formation. Keep the bottom ends in place with two bobby pins placed in an "X" formation.

6. A WHOLE LOT OF HEART

Whole Lot of Heart

Recreate this lovely formation by parting your hair down the middle, braiding it on each side of your part along your hairline, and then securing the two long three-strand braids into a heart shape using bobby pins.

7. A SWEET & SUBTLE SWOOP

Sweet and Subtle Swoop

On your wedding day, instead of pinning all of the curls into place, hiding their ends, allow two curls that are positioned next to one another to create a heart shape.

8. A PRETTY PONY

Pretty Pony

Show your sweet side by turning your usual low ponytail or traditional braid into something more complex.

Happy Mothers Day

I know. Valentine’s day is nearly here and Mother’s Day is looming large on the horizon. Mother’s Day is a massive chance for mums to get that TLC we need. Being a mum is incredibly hard-work and some ultra-spoiling is the least she deserves. Every mum needs a little pampering every now and then and Mother’s Day is the perfect excuse… which started us thinking about Mothering Sunday and where on earth it comes from! Did you know that Mother’s Day is a modern celebration which was first celebrated around 1908 when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother Ann Jarvis in Virginia, America. Ann Jarvis was a peace activist who had cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. Her daughter spent several years campaigning to have a special day as a holiday to recognise the efforts of mothers and in 1910 several states officially recognised Mother’s Day! By the 1920s the event began to gain momentum with companies selling Mother’s Day cards – something that the original campaigner disagreed with. Mother’s Day is usually celebrated on a Sunday in March and complements similar celebrations honouring family members such as Father’s Day. There is now a growing movement trying to make Siblings Day a special celebration! So to all the mums out there, we wish them a Happy Mother’s Day from Hair on Point. And if you want to thank your mum for everything she does for you why not check out our Hair Extensions. Don’t forget… Mother’s Day is on Sunday March 15th.
